Vivek Varma, who drove weekly to OKC as a teenager, with his sister Kavita, to train with Rompf at the Rompf/Summerfield Tennis Academy, has won yet another USTA National Championship and accompanying gold ball. Varma teamed with former USC and ATP tennis champion, Ricky Leach, to win the USTA National Men's 55 Clay Court Championships on October 6th at The Landings in Savannah, Georgia.
This win achieves a fifth gold ball for Varma (watch out Mary!!!!).
Varma is a close advisor to Howard Schultz serving as CEO of his investment, policy, and philanthropic initiatives, running his family office, while also continuing as Senior Advisor at Starbucks. Somewhere in there, he obviously also spends some time on the courts proclaiming he is “playing the best tennis of my life and loving it”. Kavita is the senior Editor for Today Parents.
Congratulations Vivek and Ricky!
