TAYTUM JONES AND J.P. HUSTON WIN USTA US OPEN EXCELLENCE CUP GOING TO THE 2024 US OPEN

BRJTF scholarship recipients Taytum Jones and JP Huston were nominated by Play It Forward and the Edmond Center Court for the 2024 Excellence Cup and both have been accepted. The USTA Foundation Excellence Cup is a program that provides coaching and career learning opportunities to underserved junior tennis players.

The Excellence Cup takes place in NYC, August 31 to September 6, in conjunction with the 2024 US Open. It is designed for 15-17 year old tennis players who have exhibited exceptional character and promise both on and off the court. The USTA Foundation hosts the US Open Excellence Cup for both the selected student athletes as well as their coaches during the final week of the 2024 US Open. It is a three-day college and career prep camp to aid them in their upcoming journey to attend and play college tennis. What an amazing honor for these two BRJTF players and what a way to celebrate their incredible summer of play!

It is also important to note that the USTA Foundation program also includes an Essay Contest, which ironically was won by BRJTF Scholarship recipient Ian Wu this year. Both he and his father, about whom he wrote his essay, received an all expense paid trip together to attend the 2024 US Open in New York City (SEE STORY IN NEWS BELOW).

Bill Rompf commented that to have three of our five BRJTF scholarship recipients be hosted by the USTA and receive complimentary trips to the 2024 US Open is truly gratifying. Even better is the fact that these three players have not only excelled on the tennis court, but are now being honored for their scholastic achievements and overall character. As I have always said, tennis achieves the best in you both on and off the court and throughout your entire life. We are so proud of Ian, Taytum and JP.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND MEMORY OF WHERE ALL YOUR HARD WORK HAS TAKEN EACH OF YOU!!!!!
