HIS ESSAY CHOOSES HIS FATHER, FRED, AS THE G.O.A.T. AND MAJOR FACTOR IN HIS LIFE IAN AND FRED WU TRAVEL TO THE US OPEN FOR AWARD PRESENTATION BY THE USTA
I have always said that tennis is a sport that builds you into a champion both on and off the court and throughout your entire life. The attributes of the game build your character and success in so many of the endeavors, opportunities and challenges that one encounters in life. That has now happened to BRJTF '23 and '24 scholarship student, Ian Wu.
Ian entered an essay competition sponsored by the NJTL (National Junior Tennis League) and the USTA, where participants were asked to write about the G.O.A.T. that has most influenced and changed their life. Ian selected his father, Fred, as his Greatest of All Time factor in his life and was named a National Champion of the USTA Foundation NJTL Essay Completion for 2024. The USTA provided the Wu's with a father/son all-expenses paid trip to the 2024 US Open in NYC where they were honored at an awards ceremony; attended several matches; visited the NY Stock Exchange; and much more. WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE MEMORY.
Ian, we are so proud of you and what you have accomplished in the game of tennis and in your life, You are a true champion both on the court and now on paper as well. Congratulations to both you and your DAD (G.O.A.T.)!
