All five of the 2025 Bill Rompf Junior Tennis Foundation scholarship recipients qualified for the Rally in the Valley (formerly the Sweet 16) MVTA Championships held at the Edmond Center Court, June 12-15. Hampered on and off by rain, but successfully executed by Directors David and Lisa Minihan, the tournament was a huge triumph featuring the top 16 players in the MVTA in a “compass draw” play format.
The star of the group was our newest scholarship player, Ghillian Harper Humphrey who, at age 11, won the Girl’s 12’s in tough third set action and tie break sets in a determined “not to lose” style of play. Ghillian beat the #1, #2, and #3 seeds on her way to the championship. NICE DEBUT GHILLIAN!!!!!!!

Boy’s 16: Ty Taylor, semi-finalist and 3 rd place winner
Taytum Jones, quarter finalist wining two matches
Boy’s 18: Ian Wu, lost in first round; won two matches in south draw
JP Huston, playing up, lost first round; won 3 matches in west draw
Girl’s 16: Quarterfinals, but had to withdraw due to injury in semi-finals
Girl’s 12: Ghillian Harper, CHAMPION, won 3 matches main draw (undefeated)
